Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president YS Sharmila Reddy on Sunday lashed out at her brother, Chief Minister YS Jagan Reddy, and said both the YSR Congress Party and the Telugu Desam Party are acting as the stooges in the hands of Bharatiya Janata Party.
Addressing a meeting, after taking over the reins of APCC here in a bid to revive the lost ground of the grand old party, for the first time, she choose the platform to make a diatribe against her brother, saying there is no difference between the ruling YSRCP and the TDP as they have mortgaged the interests of AP. They are dancing to the diktat of the BJP after coming to power.”
She said “they did not take up Special Category Status (SCS), getting funds for Polavaram despite recognition as a national project. They failed miserably in building a capital and getting funds for it from the Centre. At the time of bifurcation, AP had loans worth Rs.1 lakh. During the TDP regime, erstwhile Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu borrowed loans worth Rs. 2 lakh crore. Jagan Mohan Reddy took loans amounting to over Rs.6 lakh crore. With borrowings made by corporations and outstanding dues, now the loan burden has gone up to Rs10 lakh crore.”
